Natural Axinites Overview
Crystal are tabular and wedge-shaped. Other habits are massive and lamellar.
Axinite is reddish brown, yellow, colorless, blue, violet, or grey, and has a colorless streak. It is transparent to translucent, and it has a vitreous luster.

Legend and Lore
The axinite group included ferroaxinite, manganaxinite, and tinzenite. Named (Greek-axe) because of its sharp-edged crystals. It has a strong vitreous luster.
