Natural Cerussites Overview
Crystal arre often tabular, but can be acicular. Clusters of twinned crystals are common. Cerussite also occurs in massive, granular, compact, and stalactitic habits.
It is often white or colorless, but can be grey, greenish, or blue in color, as a result of inclusions such as lead. The streak is white.
Cerussite is transparent to translucent, and it has an adamantine, vitreous, or resinous luster.
Named (Latin-lead white) after its composition. It has an adamantine luster. It is very difficult to cut because of its high brittleness.
