Frequently Asked Questions

  • How should I pay for the items I ordered and what are my payment options?
GemSuite.com accepts payment by all major credit cards - VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover via PayPal. The payment screens are designed to allow entry of all required information from these for your convenience.

Additionally, you may choose to pay by personal or business check, money order or cashier's check, or by wire transfer (telegraphic transfer or TT, for purchases over USD 300.00 only). For further details as to how payment can be made, please visit our "Payment Options" page.

  • The prices displayed for your gemstones are much less than comparable gemstones that I have seen in retail outlets; how is this possible and how do I know I will be making a value purchase?
GemSuite.com purchases thousands of gemstones every year to ensure we have an ample selection on-hand. We select certain gemstones from large batches of gemstone varieties which we feel represent the best value for our Customers. We are very diligent in this process. Because we buy in such large quantities and because we acquire these directly from the source supply, you can be assured that the gemstones you purchase from GemSuite.com represent an excellent value; you would be extremely unlikely to purchase a set or loose gemstone of comparable size and quality from a retail establishment for the same price, because price mark-ups are considerably higher in retail establishments.

Please note that the gemstones you see on our Website represent a small fraction of our on-hand inventory, and feel free to inquire if there is something special you are looking for - chances are we have it!

GemSuite.com does not deal in synthetic or created gemstones and all of our gemstones have been authenticated by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certified Gemologists and we grade and price our gemstones based on GIA grading systems for color, clarity, cut, and carat weight.

All of the photographs you see on our Website are true photographs of the gemstone(s) you will be purchasing from us; we do not use "stock" or "substitute" photographs to represent our gemstones. Because we are so confident in your approval of your purchased gemstones, we offer free shipping and a no-hassle return policy and guarantee. To find out more, please read our Trading Policy.

  • How do I know the gemstone is what you claim it to be?
All of our gemstones are identified and authenticated by GIA certified gemologists employed by GemSuite.com. Current AGTA ( American Gem Trade Association ) authentications / identification documents can be purchased at our costs to obtain them.

These authentications / identifications are done at the independent Laboratory by this well-respected Institution. Also, GemSuite.com has a ten-day inspection period, which may be used to obtain independent evaluations or appraisals, at the Customer´s discretion. To find out more, please read our Trading Policy.

  • How long will it take to ship my gemstone and what is the process involved?
Upon receipt of payment your order will be shipped, and you will receive e-mail notification that your purchased items have been shipped, with tracking information.

To find out when you will receive an item, you need to consider the availability of the item you have ordered and the shipping option you selected:

(Availability) + (Dispatch Time) = Total Delivery Time

To find out more, please review our Shipping Options.

  • Is my credit card safe?
Absolutely! In fact, it's safer to use your credit card over the Internet than in a restaurant or department store. GemSuite.com servers are secured using a Thawte Digital Certificate. This ensures that in certain areas like On-line Order Checkout we use industry-standard SSL-encryption technology that works with all major browsers such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator and ensures that if any other internet user intercepts the communication while you are placing an order, he/she will only be able to see it in an encrypted (garbled) form. Furthermore, your credit card information is encrypted and access by GemSuite.com employees is limited and restricted.

In the extremely unlikely event that someone makes unauthorized charges on a your credit card transaction with GemSuite.com, the cardholder will simply not be held liable. If you would like more information about our security policy, please read our Security Statement.

  • What about order delivery insurance?
In addition to free shipping, GemSuite.com also pays the cost of insuring all shipments to the Customer. Expenses for returning items to GemSuite.com, including insurance at the full purchase price of the returned item(s), will need to be paid by the Customer. Please follow the instructions on returning item(s) purchased from GemSuite.com, including shipment methods and insurance requirements.

  • How do I know if you received my order?
After you click "CONFIRM THIS ORDER" button at the last step of the On-Line Order Checkout, you should receive a confirmation page with a order reference number on it. If you do not get a confirmation number, you should see a message at the top of the order form indicating why the order could not be processed. Correct the problem indicated in this text message and click "CONFIRM THIS ORDER& again to send the revised information. GemSuite.com will send you the Order Confirmation e-mail, with your order details and order reference number.

  • Can I be certain that you won't share my personal information with another individual or Company?
We understand the value of keeping your personal information private, and we have designed the GemSuite.com Website with controls that let you choose the level of communication you receive and the amount of information you disclose. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information.

  • How do I arrange to have authentication and identification done on my purchased gemstone?
All of our gemstones are identified and authenticated by GIA certified gemologists employed by GemSuite.com. Current AGTA ( American Gem Trade Association ) authentications / identification documents can be purchasedat our costs to obtain them.

  • I am having problems with placing an order and completing the payment process - what should I do?
There could be several possible reasons for this. Please try to execute your purchase a second time. If you continue to have problems executing the transaction and completing the payment process, please review "How do I Complete the Order Checkout" article, which will probably provide you with the details you need.

  • I purchased and received a gemstone from you and now have decided that I would like to return it - what do I do next?
GemSuite.com provides for a ten-day inspection period to allow you to fully inspect your purchased item(s). In the event you decide to return your item(s), we will gladly accept your return. Please go to our "How do I Return an Item" page, which will provide all of the information you need to return an item to GemSuite.com.

  • Where can I get my gemstone set?
Practically all Jewelers provide this service and have on-hand catalogues with pictures and descriptions of gemstone settings, or "findings". Findings are precious metal (gold, platinum, silver) polished castings for rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, etc. After deciding on a setting, the gemstone can be mounted on the setting with accent stones. You will have a unique and beautiful piece of jewelry that you have designed! Many Jewelers specialize in crafting one-of-a-kind jewelry items for Customers, and have a shop and all of the necessary equipment and instruments to do this at their location.

  • I decided to pay for my purchase by personal check, which I recently mailed - how long will it likely take to process my payment?
GemSuite.com will deposit the check immediately upon receipt. Usually it takes about a week for us to receive notification that the personal check or business check has cleared, after which we will immediately package and ship your order.

  • I have a few questions about a purchase selection I am considering?
We will be more than happy to respond to any questions you may have about any purchase consideration you are making. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact us at info@gemsuite.com and we will be happy to help you with this.

  • I am having trouble navigating the GemSuite.com Website to find the items I am looking for - what should I do?
Our Website has been designed to be User-friendly, but the layout may be somewhat different from other websites you have visited. It is also possible that some of the navigation features may not be functioning correctly; these things do happen from time to time. Also, we may not have posted on our Website certain items you are interested in, but we do have a huge selection of top-quality gemstones that have not been posted to our Website.

  • My gemstone looks smaller than I expected it to be - how do I know that the advertised carat weight is correct?
The carat weight and dimensions for each stone have been checked and double- checked here at the GemSuite.com Laboratory. All of our gemstone measurements have been made in millimeters and the gemstone weight measured and reported in carats.

A "carat" is the equivalent of one-fifth of a gram, and 25.4 millimeters equals one inch. Gemstone varieties vary in density, meaning a one-carat Sapphire, for example, will appear smaller than a one-carat Emerald, if they are cut in a similar fashion.

Cutting style can also influence how large a gemstone appears "face up"; a deeply cut gemstone will appear smaller than a shallow cut gemstone, all other things being equal. The density value for each of the gemstone varieties can be accessed by clicking on the "Learn More About..." text above each individual gemstone web page description and picture. Basically, the higher the density of a gemstone variety, the smaller it is likely to appear "face-up", all other things being equal.

Because the pictures of the gemstones on our Website are being viewed under magnification, you should look at the dimensions for the stone from the gemstone description and obtain a measuring device to get an accurate idea of how large the gemstone you are considering purchasing will appear "face-up".

  • How would I send a picture and description of a GemSuite.com gemstone to a friend that I think would be interested in it?
You will see above the gemstone picture and description text reading "Tell-a-Friend about this ..." - Simply click on this and fill in the required information, and off it goes!
